Short Answers/ Fill in

1. When you are faced  with verbal conflict, list five things  that you can do to improve the situation.

2. Before you begin to write you should brainstorm ideas and then write a thesis statement.
    a. Define the terms  "brainstorm" and "thesis" in complete sentences.
    b. Give an example of a well-constructed thesis statement.

3. " When writing a draft document, ideas and concepts are more important than punctuation and grammar."      
  Explain why you agree or disagree that this is a true statement?

4.During the discussion about critical thinking we discussed "bias" bias that you have and describe  how it affects your ability to be a critical thinker.

5./ In the chapter on communicating, it states that we should "view complaints as requests". How do you respond to complaints? What can you do differently the next time someone complains to you?

ESSAY

1. Discuss how non verbal messages, (the things you do but don't say) can affect the message you are transmitting during a conflict. List specific examples of at least three and discuss.
